Write down the practical problem

Review the existing installations
The layout depends on drainage, water supply, ventilation and electrical requirements. Moving a fixture may affect more than its visible position. Ask for those dependencies to be checked before finalising the design.
Compare finishes with their maintenance

Build the budget from the actual scope
A meaningful quote identifies removal, preparation, installations, finishes and fittings, with exclusions made clear. Room size alone cannot establish a reliable price. Discuss optional items separately so you can make choices without losing track of the essentials.
Plan the period when the bathroom is unavailable
Material delivery, preparation and curing can affect the schedule. Agree access, the order of work and how changes will be communicated. Before handover, review the agreed work and keep the relevant care information.
